This original painting was inspired by a recent visit with my hubby to enjoy a coffee at one of our favourite cafes, 'Babushka' situated at the end of the lovely West Strand in Portrush. As we were sitting outside enjoying the warm sun and our drinks, I quickly decided that this stunning view just had to be painted. The calm and vibrant blue sea, the 3 canvas deckchairs with their interesting shadows giving just a subtle hint of the occupiers, the dramatic cast shadows in the foreground, all bathed in the morning sun adding a warm 'glow' to the scene. The panoramic shaped canvas further accentuates the natural beauty of one of the most beautiful and iconic beaches on Ireland's north coast, viewed from a more unusual angle.
On closer inspection, you will find many recognisable 'Portrush' details such as Curry's 'Big Dipper' sign, love or hate them the construction underway of the new 'Erin' apartments, the promenade walkway and lights, the houses/apartments in the very far distance leading up to the main road, to name but a few.
This acrylic painting is on a high quality and deep edged stretched canvas ready to hang with the edges simply left white to give a clean, contemporary feel although I could paint them a colour of your own choosing if preferred.
